You pay more for less. A console is just a locked-down computer that gets outdated fast. You have to pay for online play, and games are often more expensive. A PC costs more upfront but saves money in the long run and can do so much more.

You're ignoring the convenience and optimization. Consoles offer a plug-and-play experience with no driver issues, and games are perfectly tuned for the hardware. For many, that simplicity and guaranteed performance is worth the price.
