Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your display name, username, email address, and password (stored securely hashed). When you use the platform, we collect your claims, debate arguments, votes, comments, and interaction data.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to provide the debate platform experience, including ELO ranking calculations, AI scoring, and notifications. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. AI Processing

Debate arguments are processed by AI models to generate fact-check scores, relevance ratings, and tone analysis. This processing is essential to the platform's functionality. AI-generated scores are stored alongside your arguments.

4. Payment Data & Third-Party Processors

When you purchase a subscription, your payment is processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), our merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment information (credit card details, billing address, etc.) directly. We do not store your credit card or payment details on our servers.

We share the following data with Paddle to process your purchase: your email address and account identifier. Paddle may also collect your IP address, device information, and browser type for fraud prevention.

For more information about how Paddle handles your data, please see Paddle's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plaintext.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Paddle — payment processing and billing (see Section 4)
  • AI model providers — debate arguments are sent for scoring (content only, no personal identifiers)
  • Law enforcement — only when legally required

7. Your Rights

You can access, export, or delete your account data at any time through the Settings page. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your personal data, claims, and debate history. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to be forgotten.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising trackers. Paddle may set its own cookies during the checkout process for fraud prevention.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Paddle operates internationally and may transfer payment data to different jurisdictions as part of their payment processing infrastructure. All transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards.
